  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup frosting optional
  • Extra crushed candy canes for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then remove it from heat.
  3. Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips and crushed candy canes.
  8. Pour the batter into a greased and lined baking dish, smoothing the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting.
  11. If desired, hollow out a portion of the brownie to create a space for frosting or additional filling.
  12. Fill with frosting or simply sprinkle extra crushed candy canes on top.
  13. Gather them in a festive arrangement and serve.
