Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks
  • Sea salt for topping

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, and mix in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, and dark chocolate chunks.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on each cookie before baking.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly soft.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
