Irresistibly Rich Double Chocolate Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or dark

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, beating until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, blending just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look set but the center remains soft.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
